This year’ Charity Toy Run to Clatterbridge Hospital in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice and Lady Taverners was held on Sunday 4th November. It is now the 14th year that Bill Smiths Motors & Smiths Honda have organised the Charity Toy Run to Claire House Children’s Hospice, as well the third year supporting Lady Taverners. Both of which are really amazing charities that do rely heavily on the aid of fund-raising, which of course makes all the charity events that Bill Smiths Motors & Smiths Honda organise so important, and it really does mean a lot when everyone puts the time and effort in and shows real support for the charities.

Even though it was a fairly cold Sunday in November the biking community really pulled together and ensured that as much as possible was raised for the Charity. This year there was in excess of 200 colourful bikes & riders all parked at Smiths Honda eagerly awaiting the ride. I must admit, there was a large queue at the burger van for a while whilst everyone was getting a nice hot drink and bit of food in preparation for the day ahead. Once everyone had got their orders in it was time to turn attentions to all the Christmas themed fancy dress that was on show, and there was plenty! This year there were plenty of Santa’s, elves and even a few reindeer’s turned out for the ride.

It was an all-round amazing day and between everybody who took part there was a huge amount raised of over £3000. I think everyone can agree that as every year, the Charity Toy Run was a huge success. There will be plenty more going on at Smiths Honda & Bill Smiths Motors in the coming year to help raise as much as possible for the charities that do really need it, so be sure to keep an eye out and please support them if you can!

It was a great honour for us at The Ride Academy to be a part of the Charity Toy Run this year especially with it being for such an amazing cause. We are very much looking forward to getting involved with all the future charity events alongside Smiths Honda & Bill Smiths Motors in the following years to come.

A huge thank you to everyone that turned up this year, and for those of you that couldn’t make it don’t worry, there is always next year!

Roll on Toy Run 2019!
